More Protestants Breaking Up Over "Liberal Drift"

Like the traditional Episcopalians who recently broke away from ECUSA (Episcopal Church U.S.A.)to form the ACNA (Anglican Church in North America), traditional Lutherans are fed up with sodomy being sold as sanctity as well. They are exiting the liberal Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in droves. Many are exploring the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) founded in 2001, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), and the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, largest of the conservative branches with 2.4 million members.

The exodus from these liberal churches can be expected to grow as mainline Protestant churches become more and more pagan. Like the cults of Baal and Molech among the pagan people of Israel, the liberal churches embrace not only sodomy, but often fornication and abortion as well.

But the truth is not high up in the sky. It's easy for anyone to see if he wants to. Jesus said, "If you love me keep my commandments." The commandment against adultery encompasses other acts of lust like sodomy and fornication. While those enslaved to these sins insist that scripture passages explicityly condemning them don't really mean what they say (like Romans 1), faithful Christians recognize the lie for what it is.

We are in a time of separation with the sheep moving toward Christ and goats away from Him. It's time to choose who we will serve. Those faithful to the true God will embrace Joshua's response, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

Breakups in protestant denominations are frequent. But there is one church that has maintained the truths of its teaching for 2,000 years. Rather than split up once again, the disintegration offers an invitation from God to come home to Rome where Peter still resides. Jesus founded one true Church, not Henry VIII, Martin Luther, or John Calvin.

"Thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." The Catholic Church is the only Church that can trace its beginning in a direct line back to St. Peter. The new breakaway churches are simply the latest in a long line of Protestant sects, forming, breaking away, changing doctrines, etc. Study scripture, Church history, and the Fathers of the Church from the early centuries. The Catholic Church selected the canons of the Bible. Revolutionaries like Luther objected to some true abuses, but also threw out doctrines they didn't like. The Episcopal Church was founded by a syphilitic adulterer who wanted his own way, made himself head of the church, and who, along with his successors, murdered thousands of citizens for the "crime" of refusing to abandon their faith.

Pray, ask the Lord to help you do His will, and search for the truth. That is one prayer the Lord always answers.

  1. There is a big difference when a non-catholic converts to the Cathlic Church today because of Vatican II/Novus Ordo (New Mass) and the infiltration of communists, protestants, etc. Tradition and the Latin Mass are the only way to go. Fr. Popian's story should be a warning to all:
